My name is Akasha Lonsdale and before a major career change in 1987, I had a high profile corporate HR position but inside I felt like something was missing. I was constantly thinking ‘there must be more to life than this but right now I don’t know what it is’.
Gradually it began to dawn on me that I was just sleepwalking through life because my heart wasn’t in it.
Around 3am most mornings my eyes would just open and the mind chatter would start.
In the dark, my endless ‘to do’ list seemed like a ball and chain. I felt like I was constantly juggling the pressures of life and losing! I kept asking myself ‘What next, what do I need to do?’
And then one day I woke up and just knew what next. It was one of the ‘aha’ moments and after three years psychotherapy training, I jumped ship.
Now I’m not suggesting or even encouraging you to do that unless every fibre of you knows it’s right and you can support yourself through a major transition.
