Before I even began my own journey of self-transformation and my work as a psychotherapist 30+ years ago, I long held the belief that Inner Peace = World Peace.
Now it seems more than ever that we need to look again at the part we play in what plays out globally, in our communities and with each other.
At a time when we are technologically advanced enough to be a united global family, the world seems to be shrinking back into small units that are opposed to each other. Suspicions abound, racism is rife, war crimes are being committed and words of hate are on the increase.
Like any family there will be disagreements and arguments but there will also be love, kindness and harmony. In 2017 let’s hold an intention for a better year than the extraordinary one that has just gone. Let’s take whatever steps are needed to shine a light onto our own darkness and negativity, so that it can be transformed to positivity, hope and respect for all sentient beings.
Courage and Doubt
It will take courage, and with courage comes doubt. Courage says ‘Go forward’ and Doubt cautions ‘Is that a good idea?’ They see-saw together but make powerful companions for self-transformation.
I frequently comment about how many people seem to be sleep-walking through life. Often they find their way to me just as they are about to walk off the cliff edge! So now is the time to awaken, to shine, be bold, be courageous, be doubtful, to question and then take action. After all, the definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome!’
Happy 2017. I wish you a year of health, exploration and fulfillment. If I can help in any way on your journey, just ask.
